Classes run from Tuesday to Friday and are generally from 9.30 am – 3.00 pm and students are required to attend each session. Every day begins with prayer and worship as we start each morning by encountering God together. Those who are part of the 12 week teaching intensive will then go straight into lectures as they get immersed into their learning experience.
During the 6 month internship the schedule will be a little less rigid as interns will be involved in all kinds of ministry across the region and city so schedules tend to be a little more flexible.
As well as all the learning and training, you’ll get plenty of time to relax over coffee and chat and eat with your fellow students, hopefully building friendships that will last a lifetime.
Sundays are mission day! Whether you are part of one of the established “Revive Church” campuses, pioneering a new work, or travelling on short term mission somewhere around the UK there will be plenty to do! You could be preaching the gospel, leading worship, being part of our exciting kids and youth ministries, praying for the sick, leading a new church plant – the opportunities are endless!
Those part of the 9 month option will get time off over Christmas / New Year and also a two week “spring break”
Each student and intern will be required to make “Revive Church” their home church for the duration of their time at the college. Revive is a growing, multi-site church in East Yorkshire, with its main HQ in Kingston-Upon Hull, the UK’s “City Of Culture 2017”.
As a member of Revive Church we will provide each student with pastoral care and support for their duration with us. You will also have the opportunity to attend and participate in our conferences that we hold throughout the year (with world class guest speakers and worship leaders); attend our evening Bible classes and be part of our High Capacity Coaching that we offer to leaders and emerging leaders.
We do not currently have a residential option on campus but there are a wide range of accommodation options both within the church and the city. Once you have been accepted onto the course, our student liaison will discuss your budget and provide you with a list of options. They will also help you get settled into the place you will be staying and even show you around the city! Please note, that accommodation and food costs are additional to college costs.
Mission is a huge part of the culture of the college and every student will take part in regular missions around the region and even around the country. There will also be the opportunity to go on at least one overseas mission as part of the college experience. We have taken teams around Europe and to various parts of Africa and South America over the years. Please note, that an overseas mission trip is optional and costs are additional to college costs.
Our entry requirements for overseas students are a little stricter than for UK based students however if you would like to study with us for the 12 week intensive you are more than welcome to apply.
Overseas students wanting to stay for a further 6 months and work as a ministry intern at the church would need a visa to do this. This would be something to be discussed during the 12 week teaching intensive. We would treat each candidate on an individual basis. However, we have had some wonderful students and interns from overseas before and they have always had a life changing and enriching experience!
